The deputy HEAD of the department for drug control and combating human trafficking of the main department of internal affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Dmitry Usarov, told reporters about this.

"The problem of child pornography is always considered inextricably with the problem of sexual violence against children. The consumers of such content are often pedophiles, who sometimes record their actions themselves, thereby creating pornographic content involving minors. The saddest link in the chain is children who are used for producing pornography, becoming victims of such crimes,” said Dmitry Usarov.

Since the beginning of the year, 20 cases of distribution of child pornography have been identified in Minsk, affecting 13 minors, most of whom were under 14 years of age. The number of suspects in the criminal act was 14 people. “This is less than the number of identified cases of sexual violence against children, but the problem does not lose its relevance. After all, the less such content there is, the fewer, accordingly, there will be victims of children,” Dmitry Usarov emphasized.

He also gave examples where children were forced to do such filming for money ; moreover, cases of similar earnings on minors by their parents were identified. The operator, in an effort to film the content, posted an advertisement offering to provide his daughters for filming.

“The presence of a child outside the home without parental control, the participation of minors in so-called flats, or registrations, with the consumption of ALCOHOL and the presence of people over 18 years old creates the preconditions for committing sexual crimes,” Dmitry Usarov emphasized.

As for the social portrait of a pedophile, even law enforcement officers cannot clearly define its features today. “This is most often a man, a consumer of porn content, sometimes quite prosperous, even married. But many pedophiles are divorced or single, have communication problems. However, only 5% of all have a mental illness that requires treatment.
