Vitebsk . In Vitebsk, a pensioner died in a fire in a multi-storey residential building. A BELTA correspondent was informed about this by the Vitebsk Regional Department
of the Ministry of Emergency Situations .
A fire in one of the high-rise buildings on Moskovsky Avenue occurred on the afternoon of January 10. Rescuers were informed that the entrance to the house was filled with smoke; they arrived at the call site within minutes.
The fire was observed in an apartment on the fourth floor. The owner of the house, a woman born in 1946, was found by emergency workers in the room on the sofa. She was taken out into the fresh air and handed over to doctors, who, after a series of resuscitation measures, pronounced the pensioner
dead .
Two people, including a child, were evacuated from the floors above.
As noted by the Ministry of Emergency Situations,
the fire occurred due to an unextinguished cigarette.
Rescuers remind: in most cases, smoking in one’s home, especially in
ALCOHOL intoxication leads to dire consequences.
