Recreation by law: what is the penalty for drinking alcoholic beverages on the beach

June 29, MINSK. For drinking ALCOHOL on the beach, a fine of up to 8 basic units is provided. Sergei Prigodich, Deputy HEAD of the Department of Law Enforcement and Prevention of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee, told reporters about this, BelTA informs.

The law enforcement representative recalled that swimming in prohibited areas provides for administrative liability in the form of a fine of up to 3 basic units (1 BV - Br32). If a citizen bathed in prohibited places while intoxicated , then this is a circumstance aggravating administrative responsibility, and the fine will be increased. Also, the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses provides for liability for the use of alcoholic beverages in places of recreation. These offenses are regulated by Article 19 and Article 24.42 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

"For drinking alcoholic, low-alcohol drinks in prohibited places, including on the beach, administrative liability is provided for up to 8 basic units. If the fact of violation is repeatedly revealed and a protocol is drawn up, the fine increases to 15 basic units or ends with administrative arrest," Sergey Prigodich said. .

As noted by the chairman of the Belarusian Republican Society for Water Rescue (OSVOD) Anvar Igamberdiev, the main rule for vacationers is that you can swim only in specially adapted places. In Belarus, 435 beaches are equipped in 2022, which is 11 more compared to the previous year. In preparation for the swimming season, a gangway for people with disabilities was installed on the beach of the Drozdy reservoir. The chairman of the Belarusian Republican Water Rescue Society also drew attention to the fact that the number of places prohibited for swimming has increased, their number has reached 2843 this year. Lists of places unsuitable for swimming are published on the websites of the executive authorities.

"The danger is not only prohibited, but also places not established for swimming. These are quarries, the depth of which can reach up to 40 m, technical reservoirs, dams, where people can die when diving. it is difficult to help a person in trouble in such circumstances, therefore we urge people not to rely on luck and not to test their abilities," Anvar Igamberdiev stressed.

To ensure the safety of people on the waters, regular monitoring of places of mass recreation is carried out and the efforts of OSVOD employees are coordinated with interested structures.
