Around 40 unlicensed drivers were detained in the Vitebsk region over the weekend.

August 19,Vitebsk . Around 40 drivers who got behind the wheel without a license were detained in the Vitebsk region over the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee told a BelTA correspondent.

"A total of 17 accidents with material damage were recorded on the region's roads over the past weekend, ten of which were in the regional center," the department noted. "Ten drunk drivers and 39 unlicensed drivers were detained."

More than 150 pedestrians were also cited for traffic violations. Over 20 of them were intoxicated.under the influence of ALCOHOL , and 37 were driving without reflectors at night.

The State Traffic Inspectorate urges all road users to exercise extreme caution and caution and strictly adhere to traffic regulations.
