July 27, Gomel. The drunk captain of the ship was detained in the waters of Sozh, BelTA informs with reference to the regional organization OSVOD.

The incident took place last Friday, July 22, around 8 pm. Eyewitnesses reported to the city rescue station about the strange trajectory of the ship. "There was information that a ship was moving chaotically along the Sozh River, which could be dangerous. It passed along the pier, hitting the fishing rods of fishermen," the OSVOD said.

OSVOD employees quickly went to the place of the call. "The man on the boat did not behave quite adequately. Thanks to the actions of rescuers on the waters and the police, the captain of the ship was detained. He had signs of intoxication," the rescuers said. Experts are checking.

The regional organization OSVOD reminded that driving ships, including small ones, while intoxicated is a threat to people's safety. "For such violations, administrative liability is provided," the organization said.

Rescuers on the waters once again warned about the safety rules on the waters for both vacationers and fishermen. So, in the region this year an accident was registered: a man fell from a boat. "He fell under his own engine, having received injuries incompatible with life," the OSVOD summed up.
