The incident happened on the morning of January 31st. Employees of the OGAI of the Lelchitsy District Department of Internal Affairs near secondary school No. 1 stopped a minibus that was carrying passengers from Lelchitsy to Mozyr. Behind the wheel was a 42-year-old driver - a resident of Mozyr.

When checking documents, the traffic police officer suggested that the driver was intoxicated . The examination confirmed the suspicions. Exhaled air contained 0.85 ppm of alcohol. "The citizen began to deny the fact of drinking alcohol, and, having traveled to a healthcare facility, he completely refused to undergo a medical examination," the traffic police said.

Administrative material was filed against the driver, the transport was taken to a guarded parking lot, and the passengers were transferred to another driver, who delivered them to their destination.

State traffic inspectors clarified: the minibus driver faces a fine of 200 basic units and deprivation of the right to drive any type of transport for 5 years.

"It should be noted that everything could have ended much sadder if the drunk driver had continued to carry passengers," the traffic police emphasized.
