March 22, Vitebsk. In the Shumilinsky district, a man died in a fire in a private house. An unextinguished cigarette could have been the cause of the incident, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Experts are checking on the fact of a fire in one of the houses in the village of Mekhi. The message about him was received by employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations at 2.17 am on March 22. Upon arrival at the place of the call, emergency personnel observed open burning of the house and the collapse of the roof. The body of the owner of the house, born in 1973, was found under the rubble of collapsed structures. it is known that the man lived in the house alone, did not work anywhere. Neighbors said that he often drank alcoholic beverages.

The fire destroyed the roof, ceiling, property, damaged the walls in the dwelling. It is assumed that the cause of the fire was careless handling of fire while smoking.
