Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee: district police officers are the policemen closest to people

November 17, Grodno. About 400 local police inspectors maintain law and order in the Grodno region. On the site of each of them there are at least 1.5 thousand households in the city and at least 1 thousand in the countryside, a BELTA correspondent was told by the Department of Internal Affairs of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee.

“Precinct inspectors are the police officers closest to people,” noted Dmitry Astrashevsky, HEAD of the department of law enforcement and prevention of the public security police of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee. - Their main task is the prevention of crimes and offenses, and it is on their work that security in the areas entrusted to them and in the region as a whole largely depends. For this purpose, district inspectors regularly hold meetings in work collectives and educational institutions, visit people at home, and hold receptions for citizens every Wednesday.”

Today, the focus of preventive meetings is on such current topics as online fraud involving extorting money from people under various pretexts, theft of bank card details, and issuing loans to dummies. Knowledge about the methods used by criminals to deceive gullible citizens, examples givenlaw enforcement officers during preventive conversations, protect many people from fraudulent schemes and significant financial losses. Topics such as combating family violence, drunkenness and crimes committed under the influence of ALCOHOL are not left unattended by district inspectors.alcohol intoxication crimes, distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropics.

“The order and safety of citizens directly depends on how well the district inspector knows his station,” emphasized Dmitry Astrashevsky. - I know this from my own experience, since I began my service as a district inspector of the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Grodno. People turn to the local police officer with various problems. Some have noisy neighbors, some abuse alcohol and do not allow their loved ones to live in peace, some misbehave in the yard. And these are far from minor issues, they form the overall picture of law and order in the area, and preventive workwith such violators often prevents more serious violations of the law. I would like to note that working as a district police officer provides an opportunity to gain a lot of professional experience, which is why many inspectors who have proven themselves successfully move up the career ladder and prove themselves to be responsible and competent workers in many positions. For example, in the Grodno region, among the heads of the police department there are many who come from the service of district inspectors.”

Precinct officers are among the first to go to the scene of incidents based on reports to the 102 service, the department of internal affairs said. Thanks to their vigilance, many law enforcement violators are detained. Here are some recent examples. In the Smorgon region, a local police inspector, having previously received information, detained a moonshine carrier, from whom 400 liters of illegal alcohol were found and confiscated. In the Grodno region, the vigilance of a local police officer and his contact with the population helped prevent the theft of 360 kg of feed from a livestock farm. In the Shchuchinsky district, a local police officer discovered and seized from the thief 560 liters of colored diesel fuel, stolen from a local agricultural enterprise. There are many similar examples of the effective work of district inspectors in the Grodno region.

One confirmation of this is the successful participation of the Grodno region team in the XVIII Republican review-competition for the title of “Best district police inspector,” in which it took third place.
