of the Ministry of Emergency Situations November 25, Grodno. A residential building was on fire in the Berestovitsa District, and a man died in the fire. This was reported to BELTA by the Grodno Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
On November 24, at 8:42 a.m., Berestovitsa rescuers left for the village of Bolshiye Iodkovichi, where a residential building was on fire in a private yard. By the time fire crews arrived at the scene, the wooden structure was completely engulfed in flames. As
it turned out, a 63-year-old local resident lived in the house. While conducting reconnaissance and extinguishing the fire, rescuers found the owner of the house with no signs of life on the floor of the living room; the man had died. The Ministry of Emergency Situations workers extinguished
the fire in half an hour.
The fire destroyed the roof, ceiling and property, and damaged the walls.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in the first 10 months of this year, careless handling of fire while smoking caused 110 fires in the Grodno region. 24 people died in such fires, 19 of whom were in a state of
ALCOHOL intoxication .
