A Minsk resident beat his grandmother and mother. Investigative Committee understands the circumstances of a family tragedy

April 4, MINSK . Capital investigators are clarifying the circumstances of the family tragedy that led to the death of an elderly woman. Her grandson is to blame for the death of his grandmother,drunk and beat two close relatives. Details of the investigation of the criminal case with BELTA were shared in the information and public relations group of the USC for the city of Minsk.

According to the case file, on the evening of February 4 this year, a 30-year-old man was drinking ALCOHOL at his home. This behavior did not suit his 53-year-old mother and 84-year-old grandmother, who all lived together in the same apartment. The women were worried about the fate of their relative, because he had only returned a year ago from prison, where he served a nine-year sentence for selling drugs. The family sincerely hoped that their son and grandson had taken the path of correction and that life would now improve, but the situation changed radically on that fateful evening.

The elderly woman could not remain silent when she once again noticed that her grandson was heavily intoxicated and reprimanded him. The alcoholic’s mother also joined in the censure, which infuriated him. A serious conflict arose between relatives, which is why the man tried to avoid further showdown and went into the kitchen.

There he confronted his grandmother and complained to her about the fact that she had provoked a quarrel. During the verbal altercation, the man lost control of himself and hit the elderly woman several times in the face. As a result, the pensioner lost her balance and fell to the floor. Seeing that the enraged son had hit his grandmother, the mother immediately contacted the police. However, this act angered the aggressor even more, which is why he also hit his mother in the face.

After the beating, the 84-year-old pensioner was hospitalized and died a week later from complications that developed as a result of her injuries.

The criminal explained to the investigator that he did not want to hurt his relative. He believes he was provokedalcohol and unfair, in his opinion, family remarks. According to the conclusion of a forensic psychological and psychiatric examination, the accused suffers from a mental disorder in the form of emotional unstable personality disorder. However, at the time of committing the crime, he could have been aware of the actual nature and social danger of his actions.

The man was charged under Part 3 of Art. 147 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm against a person known to be elderly, resulting in the death of the victim through negligence) of the Criminal Code. A preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to him.
