Police of Minsk region will take measures to prevent illegal behavior of citizens

November 9, MINSK. From November 16 to 20, a set of additional measures is being taken in the Minsk region to reduce the negative impact of drunkenness and ALCOHOLISM. BelTA was informed about this by the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

"In January-October, 2,035 crimes were committed while intoxicated . Administrative liability under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (drinking alcoholic beverages or beer, using narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues in a public place or appearing in a public place or at work in state of intoxication), 6,912 citizens were involved. The analysis shows that a significant number of illegal acts are committed by citizens who abuse ALCOHOL, often unemployed and registered with the internal affairs bodies," the Department of Internal Affairs said.

As part of a set of additional measures, police officers will strengthen control over alcohol abusers. Together with representatives of the housing and communal services, apartments and houses with a reputation as dens will be tested with the application of preventive measures to the citizens living in them.

Police officers, together with representatives of healthcare, education and other interested subjects of prevention, will visit citizens at their place of residence, in respect of which preventive records are carried out for offenses while intoxicated, including those committed against family members.

Employees of the Minsk Region Department of Internal Affairs will initiate meetings of councils of public law enforcement posts, offsite COURT hearings, as well as decision-making at permanent commissions of district executive committees on the need to send able-bodied, non-working citizens leading an asocial lifestyle to LTP.

"For all facts of violation of public order, primarily drinking alcohol in unidentified places, the presence of brothels and residents in the residential sector who regularly disturb the peace of citizens, it is necessary to immediately contact the internal affairs bodies by calling 102," law enforcement officers added.
