August 4, MINSK. Months on labor safety are held in Belarus during the harvesting campaign, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

“The largest mechanized and diverse work in agriculture is associated with the harvesting of grain and flax. A large number of equipment and people are involved in their implementation. However, agricultural machines and units that are not always used meet safety requirements,” said Oleg Tokun, First Deputy DIRECTOR of the Department of State Labor Inspection "In order to keep workers safe during the hottest season, the Department of State Labor Inspection, together with local authorities, takes additional measures to prevent workplace injuries. One of them is labor safety months, which are held in July-August."

Mobile groups visited 48 agricultural organizations in the Gomel region, revealed more than 500 violations of labor protection legislation, 80 organizations were examined in the Brest region, about 900 violations were identified.

The most common violations are the non-use or non-issuance of personal protective equipment to employees, the lack of protective guards for moving and rotating parts of equipment and machinery, the release of equipment on the line that is not equipped with fire extinguishers and first-aid kits, and the failure to conduct an examination for employees to be in a state of intoxication .
