President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO announced this to journalists in the Brest region, BELTA correspondent reports.

The question to the HEAD of state concerned a high-profile criminal case and details about the family’s lifestyle, which became clear during the investigation and hearing in COURT.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that in such situations, the role of society is, of course, important, which should not be indifferent to what is happening around and react in a timely manner and take measures.

State support for large families, according to the President, is of great importance, since it is necessary to improve the demographic situation in the country. But the system must be built in such a way that assistance is targeted to children. And in this sense, it is necessary to organize control over the targeted use of such assistance.

“So that the money that the state transfers to children reaches the children. What kind of system it will be, to be honest, I don’t know. This will not be an easy job , and it will be difficult to develop this system. But I just know that we won’t do this without you. People on the ground should help us with this. But this must be done,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.

“The authorities, we must develop such a scheme, a system of behavior, so that they know what kind of family this family is. People know locally. When we, having received information, saw that these were drunks and they, having received the allowance, would drink it away, then we ourselves would These children were fed, clothed, sent to school and taught there,” the President added.

The head of state constantly drew attention to the need to provide targeted support for children from large families and demanded that those in charge take appropriate measures.

Addressing the Message to the Belarusian people and parliament on March 31 of this year, the President stated that among large families there are those where parents lead an antisocial lifestyle and abuse ALCOHOL. Therefore, locally it is necessary to fundamentally understand the situation and, first of all, to protect the interests of children, so that money and government support are spent specifically on them.

“The government, the governors need to solve this problem. I raised this issue with you. If you see that a family is wasting these funds and the money is not reaching the children, make a decision on the spot and provide for the children,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.

The President demanded that children, to whom the state pays a lot of money, receive these benefits. “So that these crazy parents don’t get this money in their hands if they don’t deserve it,” said Alexander Lukashenko. “And society is indignant, who do we pay?”

The issue of parents using child benefits was discussed at a meeting of the President with the leadership of the Council of Ministers on June 22 of this year. “We allocate a lot of money to support children, and not only those with many children,” the head of state noted. “Now in almost 10 thousand families, children are recognized as being in a socially dangerous situation. 10 thousand families cannot properly look after their children. Negligent parents They’re just wasting their children’s benefits, and the children are suffering.”

In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko emphasized: “The system must be set up clearly - children should under no circumstances be deprived, and irresponsible parents must be brought to their senses.”

As BelTA reported, this week the court began considering a high-profile criminal case - parents are accused of the brutal murder of their three-year-old son.

The child was subjected to violence from his parents virtually from birth. He was starving and exhausted. Although the family, being large, received appropriate payments, judging by the case materials and the testimony of the accused in court, the money was not spent in the interests of the children, but on drinking and the antisocial lifestyle of the parents.

In January 2023, in the presence of other children, the couple inflicted numerous punches and kicks on the child's head and legs. The baby died.
