February 21, MINSK. People have not felt the sanctions pressure on themselves, the economy is working stably. This was stated by Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova during a meeting with the staff of the Minsk Crystal OJSC, the managing company of the Minsk Crystal Group holding, BelTA has learned.

"The year turned out well, despite the unprecedented sanctions pressure. They are trying to restrict us from all sides, strangle us logistically and in the supply of our products, but in general the economy worked fine. In any case, people did not feel this sanctions pressure on themselves," she said. Natalia Kochanova.

The speaker recalled that pensions were raised three times last year alone. "And this is worth a lot. According to the law, the government must raise pensions at least once a year. In general, the social orientation of our budget remains. In the republican budget, about 50% is the social sphere and socially protected items - education, culture, science, healthcare , security, safety - everything that is financed from the budget today. But in order to finance it from the budget and implement all the social programs that operate in our country, enterprises that pay taxes and form the budget must work effectively. For example, such an enterprise like yours, - noted the Chairman of the Council of the Republic, - And it is very important that in our country we have preserved all those enterprises that were left to us after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

“All decisions made, as the President says, should be for the benefit of the state,” added Natalya Kochanova. “For example, someone used to be critical of supporting agriculture, of unprofitable agricultural enterprises. But look: our bet on agriculture turned out to be justified, especially now, when half the world is starving. When we sold $8.3 billion worth of agricultural products for EXPORT last year. This exceeds the income from oil refining."

At a meeting with the team, Natalya Kochanova raised issues of protecting historical truth, national security, party building, the work of law enforcement agencies, demographic aspects, providing housing for employees, the quality of water supply, the quality of treatment for infectious diseases.
