September 9, Minsk. The state traffic inspectorate on the eve of the weekend warns against driving drunk drivers. Driver control is being strengthened. BelTA was informed about this by the UGAI GUVD of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

"Drunken driving remains the most dangerous offense. Under the influence of alcohol, the processes of human perception of the surrounding reality change, the speed of reaction decreases - all this does not allow the driver to correctly assess the situation on the road and can lead to an accident," the department noted.

Since the beginning of the year, 9 accidents have occurred in Minsk due to the fault of drunk drivers, in which 2 people died, 8 were injured of varying severity.

The state traffic inspectorate urges drivers to be prudent and responsible. People who see that a drunk driver is getting behind the wheel or he is already driving a vehicle are asked not to remain indifferent and report such facts to the police.
