a drunk driver without a license caused an accident and tried to escape from the scene. This was reported to BELTA by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee.
The Cherikov District Department of Internal Affairs received information about a collision between a Mercedes minibus and a parked Lada. After the incident, the driver left the scene of the accident. In a matter of minutes, traffic police officers found the vehicle and signaled to stop. However, the driver ignored the request and tried to escape. A pursuit began.
The car accelerated to 140 km/h, creating a real threat to other road users. The inspectors decided to use their service weapons. After aimed shots at the wheels, the offender was detained. Behind the wheel was a 30-year-old Mogilev resident with a history of multiple convictions, who does not have a driver's license and has not previously received a driver's license, with visual signs of intoxication. The examination showed more than 1.1 ppm of
alcohol.
15 administrative protocols were drawn up against the driver, including for drunk driving, failure to comply with repeated demands to stop, and disobedience. He was placed in a temporary detention facility, the vehicle was taken to a guarded parking lot.
