Two brothers died in a house fire in Zhitkovichi district

27 November, Gomel. Two brothers died in a house fire in the village of Vetchin, Zhitkovichi District, BelTA learned from the Gomel Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations .

The emergency service received a message about the emergency after 11 a.m. on 27 November. The Ministry of Emergency Situations workers quickly arrived at the scene. By that time, the house was engulfed in flames. When dismantling the collapsed structures, the bodies of two men were found on the floor in the room: the owner of the house, born in 1969, and his brother, born in 1972.

The cause of the fire is being established. The preliminary version being considered is careless handling of fire while smoking.

Rescuers once again reminded about the dangers of smoking in bed, especially when intoxicated: "If you cannot give up the bad habit, think of a special place for smoking, if possible outside the house/apartment. You also cannot throw cigarette butts out of windows and from balconies. Do not endanger yourself and those living nearby."
