We meet with the raid participants at a public order security point, in common parlance - “oporka”, not far from the tractor plant. Along the way, local police inspector of the Partizansky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk Anna Kasyuk briefly explains the essence of today's event:
– The police will be joined by representatives of the territorial center for social services, healthcare, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other services. We will pay special attention to families where children and elderly relatives live with family troublemakers. Domestic violence is not only physical, but also moral and psychological: insults, threats. Inspectors communicate both with rowdies and with members of their families, whom they often mock. Often such people need both psychological and legal assistance.
Behind the heavy entrance doors is a small room with several offices, in one of which serious passions are in full swing. Many people think that a family brawler is an unemployed, strong-built man who, under the influence of ALCOHOL, terrorizes his family. In our case, the aggressor is a woman, and quite pretty and working... But first things first.
A pensioner turned to the local police officer for help. He complains that he has already been tormented by his beloved.
“Currently her work schedule is 3/3, so on weekends she literally doesn’t dry out,” the applicant explains in a trembling voice. - I myselfI have never taken alcohol into my mouth, especially since I only recently underwent a serious kidney transplant operation. She just mocks me: she insults me, humiliates me, she took all my bank cards, and I have a pension there , and she also kicks me out of my apartment.
it turns out that the pensioner has been living together with his lady love for five years. She assures that she has never drank so much before.
– Well, I could afford 50-100 grams at a time. And now even the children have turned their backs on her, saying that until you stop drinking, don’t even call. I endured, hoping that she would improve, but I can’t cope with her anymore,” the man concludes, and the district police officer promises that they will sort out the situation right now.
No sooner said than done. Literally 10 minutes later, our group of inspectors, led by local police inspectors Mikhail Zhigalov and Anna Kasyuk, approaches an old Soviet five-story building on Budyonny Street. The owner quickly opens the door. In the apartment we take our roommate by surprise - someone, and she definitely did not expect to see law enforcement agencies.
- Where were you, what happened? – the woman turns to the man with feigned concern, avoiding the gaze of the local police officers. When they explain to her the essence of the pensioner’s complaint, the lady’s tone becomes ruder:
“And let him return me all the money I spend on him, then I’ll leave.” I feed him, clothe him, pay his utilities. Yes, I can shout for the cause...
The policemen patiently explain to the clearly tipsy lady that if her behavior does not change, they will have to register her, and it’s not far from the medical center. We leave the apartment only after the woman assures that she will no longer offend her roommate and will stop drinking. True, the district police still take note of this address - they will definitely check her promises.
Remain human
In terms of evening rounds, Mikhail Zhigalov and Anna Kasyuk have 14 addresses. Visits are not notified in advance. This disciplines violators - the person understands that he is constantly being watched. If necessary, we are ready to help both in finding a job and in the fight against bad habits: if someone needs it, send them to a narcologist. In a word, they try to do everything possible so that a person can return to a normal lifestyle, even if he has stumbled. We are convinced that this brings positive results when we arrive at the following address.
An 80-year-old pensioner has a daughter who is no longer young. It so happened - she is an inveterate drunkard and rowdy. The grandmother, who is unable to cope with her child on her own, has repeatedly turned to the police for help. As a result, through the efforts of the district police, the daughter was sent to a labor treatment center. She returned a few months ago and is now under control. We didn’t find the offender at home, but the mother assured that her daughter had corrected herself.
- No more rowdy behavior. She goes to the store to buy groceries, helps me with everything, does not insult me and regrets that she behaved this way. Alcohol is to blame for everything. People go crazy over him,” says the elderly woman and thanks the police for their help.
Another family drama unfolded in Stalin on Stakhanovskaya. Previously, a mother lived in the same apartment with her daughter and her family: her husband and little daughter. The man drank and made trouble so much that neighbors called the police more than once. In a fit of anger, he could beat his wife, but she forgave everything. This continued until, in another drunken stupor, he raised his hand to his mother-in-law. The woman couldn’t stand it and wrote a statement against her slacker son-in-law. True, she took the document afterwards, but the family was already included in the SOP.
– We often visit this address because a child lives here. True, the father, in order not to provoke conflict situations with his mother-in-law and wife, went to live with his parents at the other end of the city, explains Mikhail Zhigalov. – From time to time he visits his daughter. However, we received no more complaints from either the owners of the apartment or the neighbors.
The apartment residents were not surprised by such a large group of inspectors. It is their own fault for allowing this situation to happen. The main thing now is to fix it as quickly as possible.
“Everything is fine, my husband doesn’t even show up, he visits his daughter occasionally - they play in the street.” It doesn't bother me or my mom. I’m divorcing him, we won’t have a normal life,” the woman says straight away and invites him to come along. The apartment, of course, is not in perfect order, but there is a bed for the child and toys, there is a full set of food in the refrigerator, and the girl smiles cheerfully at us.
The district police officers, having already left this apartment, admit:
– When we see that our wards have embarked on the path of correction, we gradually try to reduce the degree of control. But they don't need to know about it. The thought of constant monitoring on our part will encourage us to continue to lead a decent lifestyle.
District police officers believe that the success of preventive work largely depends on how much a person himself wants to change for the better.
