Orthodox Christians celebrate Epiphany annually on January 19. On this
holiday, it is customary to perform the rite of holy ablution. "However, on this day, safety should be kept in mind and only specially designated sites should be chosen for the rite," the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Situations Ministry emphasized.
The largest number of such sites have been designated in the Vitebsk, Dokshitsy, and Lepel districts. "For example, in the Vitebsk Region, you can immerse yourself in the lakes of Bernskoye, Zaronovskoye, and Gorodno, in the font near the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Luzhesno, and in the reservoir near the village of Bukatino (south of the Zorka tourist complex of ChPTUP Vitstroytekhmash)," the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Situations Ministry explained.
