March 4, MINSK. A children's prank with fire could have caused a fire in a high-rise building in Brest, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The fire in the apartment on the first floor of a ten-story residential building on Makhnovicha Street was reported to rescuers on March 3 at 14.42. Before the arrival of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a woman and five minor children left the fire trap on their own.“It turned out that a resident of this high-rise building, along with her four children, was visiting a neighbor on the floor below. The children were left to their own devices,” the press service noted. “A woman, smelling smoke and discovering a sofa on fire in the room where her children and son were owner, left the apartment with them and took them to her on the second floor. Then she returned to her neighbor. The help of rescuers was already needed by two. "
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in a smoky corridor found and rescued a woman and the owner of the apartment. They were examined by doctors. A woman born in 1996 and a non-working owner of an apartment born in 1984, who were in a state of intoxication , were not injured.
The fire damaged furniture, property, smoked walls and ceiling in the apartment.
