A citizen leading an asocial lifestyle in a state of intoxication can pose a threat not only to himself, but also to his elderly parents. We are talking about situations where an able-bodied son lives with an elderly mother, who does not work anywhere and abuses ALCOHOL. Formally, the divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have no reason to provide state assistance to a pensioner, since her son lives with her. At the same time, he leads an asocial lifestyle and can be a danger not only to himself, but also to his elderly mother.

“Such cases, unfortunately, actually occur quite often,” Mikhail Lysov noted. “But here I would like to remind you that according to the Code on Marriage and Family, children are obliged to take care of their elderly parents and provide them with all possible assistance. But the facts, when children live with elderly parents, do not work themselves and do not want to work, and also by their behavior create a threat to life not only to themselves, but also to their parents, they really come to light. affairs, local authorities, HEALTH authorities."

The employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations added that a citizen who abuses alcohol becomes registered with the relevant authorities, which carry out preventive work with him: “There are cases when people really take the path of correction, accept claims from the competent authorities and begin to be treated for alcohol addiction. appearance of their households, comply with fire safety requirements.

Such citizens are also provided with assistance in finding employment. An employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations called this a measure of social readaptation of citizens who had been abusing alcohol for a long time, but decided to change their lifestyle. They are offered job opportunities. In any case, Mikhail Lysov stressed, the safety of citizens is primarily their responsibility. "In total, for example, there were about 300 cases in the Gomel region, on which the internal affairs bodies were informed in order to take response measures against citizens who abuse alcohol and do not work anywhere," the EMERCOM officer concluded.

The official representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Yevgeny Baranovsky, noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations at the level of the Commission on Emergency Situations under the Council of Ministers is developing draft recommendations that help all prevention entities interact with each other and develop the right solutions to the problem. “Social services that monitor this problem will play a big role here.
