November 30, Minsk. Member of the Standing Committee on Budget and Finance of the House of Representatives Svetlana Bartosh told reporters about the innovations of the draft law "On amendments to laws on taxation", BelTA has learned.

The taxation of individual entrepreneurs and self-employed citizens is being improved. "From January 1, 2023, individual entrepreneurs cannot work under the simplified taxation system. At the same time, two types of taxes have been retained for their choice - this is a single tax and income tax, they can decide for themselves," the deputy noted. "Small changes have also affected individuals who not engaged in entrepreneurial activities in terms of reorganizing taxation.They will also have a single tax and a tax on professional income.It will depend on the amount of income received and range from 10 to 20%.Small changes will also affect citizens who are engaged in handicrafts and agroecotourism.С 1 July 2023 they will have to switch to paying professional tax.

“I would like to dwell on two more points. This is that desk audits will be carried out, starting from January 1, 2023, in relation to citizens who have been unemployed for a long time, that is, those citizens who have not worked for more than 5 years. Their expenses will be commensurate with their income," the parliamentarian added. "In general, of course, a positive norm is fixed in the fact that the period of desk audits will be reduced - instead of ten years - five years. This will simplify the work, I think, of individual entrepreneurs, our organizations and legal entities."

Today, the "zero reading" of the republican budget for 2023 took place. The Oval Hall hosted a meeting of deputies of the House of Representatives and members of the Council of the Republic with Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and government members. The meeting also included bills "On changing the laws on taxation" and "On the budget of the state non-budgetary fund for social protection of the population of the Republic of Belarus for 2023".
