The case of an accident in Vitebsk involving a dump truck and a taxi was sent to court

April 30, Vitebsk . The regional prosecutor's office sent the criminal case about an accident in Vitebsk, when a drunk taxi driver drove into a dump truck, to the Oktyabrsky district COURT . A BELTA correspondent was informed about this by the information service of the supervisory agency. The accident occurred on the Kirovsky Bridge in Vitebsk in December 2023. On one of the lanes on the roadway there was a dump truck with its side lights and hazard warning lights on. A drunk taxi driver driving a Renault Logan was driving along Zamkova Street in this direction. His car was at a sufficient distance from the truck to stop, but the man did not slow down and the car crashed into a MAZ. A taxi passenger was seriously injured - his face and neck were disfigured as a result of the accident. As noted, he was not wearing a seat belt while driving. Materials of the criminal case on charges of a 39-year-old local resident of violating traffic rules in the state





ALCOHOL intoxication , which negligently resulted in the infliction of grievous bodily harm, was studied by the prosecutor's office of the Vitebsk region. They came to the conclusion that the investigation into the circumstances of the crime was objective, the charges were justified, and agreed with the qualification of the crime under Part 4 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code.

The case was being processed by the USC in the Vitebsk region. Previously, a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to the defendant. The regional deputy prosecutor left it unchanged.
