August 1, Vitebsk. The number of robberies in the Vitebsk region decreased by 27% over the first half of the year. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent by the information service of the prosecutor's office of the Vitebsk region.

The operational situation in the northern region is constantly under the control of relevant departments. Their well-coordinated work allowed to improve some indicators. In particular, in the region there were 53% fewer intentional inflictions of grievous bodily harm, a 27% decrease in the number of robberies and a 23% decrease in the number of thefts. The number of murders and attempts on them decreased by 20%.

"The crime rate in the Vitebsk region per 10,000 people was 39.9, which is lower than the republican indicator, which was at around 44.6," the supervisory authority noted, emphasizing that the situation in some areas of activity in the region can be described as tense . Among the problematic issues are the prevention of fraud, theft through the use of computer technology, crimes in the stateALCOHOL intoxication , and corruption.

A significant increase in the number of children who suffered from crimes, including grave and especially grave crimes, was also noticed by the regional prosecutor's office.

Employees of the department carry out special control over the compliance of enterprises in the agro-industrial complex with legislation during the period of fodder procurement and the harvesting campaign. This includes the preparation of appropriate equipment, its passage of technical inspection. Observance by organizations of environmental and land legislation, norms on the protection and use of water also remain on the pencil.

The results of the work for the six months in the prosecutor's office of the Vitebsk region were considered at a board meeting. Deputy Prosecutor General of Belarus Sergei Khmaruk took part in it.
