A Brest resident stole a friend's car and got into an accident.

January 8, Brest. In Brest, a man stole his friend's car and got into an accident, BelTA reports, citing the Brest Regional Executive Committee's Department of Internal Affairs.

The 36-year-old woman contacted the police.A Brest resident reported that her car had been stolen. It turned out she had invited a 29-year-old acquaintance over. After drinking,The woman fell asleep after drinking alcohol . When she woke up, her acquaintance was gone, and her car was gone from the yard.Law enforcement quickly tracked down the suspect in the theft.  

"The man explained that he took advantage of his girlfriend's drunken state and stole the car keys. He went to the store for more alcohol and then to his friend's. On the way to the complainant's house, the suspect caused a traffic accident and fled the scene," the police department reported. Investigators have opened a criminal case for the theft. A  

58-year-old resident of a village in the Pruzhany district also had to worry about his car. He said he left the car on his business premises that evening. The door was unlocked, and the key was under the seat. The vehicle was missing the next morning, and the owner called the police.
 
Law enforcement discovered that a 51-year-old employee of the company was involved in the theft. While under the influence, the man decided to take someone else's car for a spin around the city. While returning to the premises, he crashed into a road sign and was subsequently detained. A criminal case for car theft was opened against the defendant.
