More than 330 drunk drivers have been identified by state traffic inspectors on the roads of Vitebsk region since the beginning of the year

March 29, Vitebsk. In the Vitebsk region, due to the fault of drivers who got behind the wheel while intoxicated, there were two accidents in which three people were injured. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent by Nadezhda Kasperovich, HEAD of the agitation and propaganda department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

“In total, since the beginning of the year, state traffic inspectors have identified 335 drunk drivers on the roads of the Vitebsk region. Five drivers have been brought to criminal responsibility for drunk driving. it should be noted that the penalties for them have become tougher. (127 people were identified), under Article 18.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, a fine of 100 basic units (1 BV is Br37) and deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for 3 years, over 0.8 ppm (187 people) - 200 BV and deprivation driving license for 5 years Responsibility is also borne by persons who transferred the right to drive a car to a person whoin a state ofALCOHOL intoxication . Since the beginning of the year, seven such people have been identified. In each of the cases, the car is seized and the car is impounded,” said Nadezhda Kasperovich.

She also noted that in the northern region the number of accidents and citizens injured in accidents due to drunk drivers is decreasing: “Since the beginning of the year, there have been two accidents in the region involving drivers who got behind the wheel while intoxicated. All of them happened in Vitebsk. "Three people were injured - two drunk drivers and one passenger. During the same period last year, there were four such accidents with two victims."

The State traffic inspectorate, in addition to specialized raid activities, constantly monitors the condition of drivers on the roads of Vitebsk region. Much attention is also paid to the lawless. This year, traffic police officers identified 945 people who did not have the right to drive vehicles, of which 95 were caught again during the year. Three drivers were brought to criminal responsibility for such an offense.
