The Prosecutor General's Office, December 3, Mogilev. A woman from Babruisk systematically beat her elderly mother. She was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. This was reported to BELTA by the information service of the Mogilev Region Prosecutor's Office.
The prosecutor opened a criminal case for torture against a previously convicted 23-year-old local woman who systematically beat her 65-year-old mother.

While intoxicated, she regularly caused scandals during which she inflicted physical
pain , beatings, and bodily harm on her mother. She had been brought to administrative responsibility for domestic violence three times.
Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor,
the court of the Bobruisk district and the city of Bobruisk rendered a guilty verdict. The woman was sentenced to imprisonment for two years and six months. Based on the Law of the Republic of
Belarus "On Amnesty in Connection with the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War," the Bobruisk resident was partially exempted from punishment for one year.
The verdict has entered into force.
Since
2025, at the initiative of the Bobruisk prosecutor, 63 citizens who committed domestic violence against close relatives or family members have been brought to administrative responsibility.
To protect the rights of citizens affected by domestic violence and prevent the commission of more serious crimes, the prosecutor has opened 19 criminal cases.
