Winter maintenance of Aberdeen Angus. Enclosure device. How to give warm water to beef cattle in winter.

PIONERPRODUKT.by continues to publish videos from the AgroExpedition "Agriculture of Tatarstan-2021". In this video, we will talk about how Aberdeen Angus beef cattle are kept on the pioneer farm during the winter. And we will also learn the intricacies of the construction of corrals and the features of watering beef cattle in winter.
On the territory of the farm, not far from the paddock, there is a split that allows you to divide the herd. Additionally, a veterinary machine with scales for veterinary procedures is installed with it. The machine was made back in Soviet times and looks very soundly. Its device allows you to perform any manipulations with the animal.
Near the split there is a spacious paddock for winter keeping of livestock. All last summer, the owners created a slight slope of the soil so that water after rain, or in spring, would not stagnate in the corral, creating mud, but would flow into a ravine located nearby. A small canopy has been built on the territory of the corral to protect from rain and wind. A number of boards in it have already been broken out by cows, every year they do this, and every year the owners are forced to repair it.
All Angus cattle are artificially inseminated. The seed is bought directly from the supplier and not through intermediaries.
On the territory of the farm there is a workshop for the production of granulated feed, which is used in feeding cattle.
Currently, the farm is implementing the tasks of increasing the livestock, so all the heifers remain on the farm, and the bulls are sold through the state program for the sale of pedigree beef cattle.
Winter calving takes place under a canopy, which is located in a paddock, or simply in the snow. And we remind you that the Aberdeen Angus breed is distinguished by good resistance to frosty winters.
The pasture is fenced with several strings of electric shepherd located at different heights. This is due to the amount of snow cover and the time of year. Depending on these conditions, the owners themselves choose which thread to feed.
In order to prevent the water in the drinkers from freezing in winter, the farm has developed an interesting design of a drinker with a firebox, where you can throw firewood and heat the water.
