For five years, the production of greenhouse vegetables in Kuzbass has tripled

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kuzbass, at the end of 2021, 16.2 thousand tons of vegetables and green crops were harvested in the region. This is 12.7% more than in 2020. In particular, the harvest of cucumbers amounted to 10.3 thousand tons, tomatoes - 5.5 thousand tons, lettuce, parsley, dill - 414 tons.

“In Kuzbass, the production of vegetables in greenhouses is constantly growing, over the past five years, we have managed to achieve an increase of almost three times (2017 - 5.7 thousand tons). The main increase occurred in 2018-2019 with the opening of two modern greenhouse complexes. Now the growth of production is due to entering new capacities and increasing yields through the use of highly productive varieties and modern growing technologies. Thus, today about a third of the greenhouse vegetables presented in the shops of the region are grown by local producers,” comments Andrey Aritkulov, Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kuzbass.

The total area of ​​greenhouses in the region is 28 hectares. There are five farms located in the Kemerovo, Belovsky, Yashkinsky municipal districts and in the Novokuznetsk region. The largest supplier of protected ground vegetable products is the greenhouse complex of KDV Yashkinskiye Teplitsy LLC with an area of ​​9.8 hectares, with a production capacity of about 7 thousand tons of vegetables per year. The complex is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies: there is an energy center that provides the greenhouses with heat and carbon dioxide needed by plants, water for production needs comes from its own well, and the microclimate in the greenhouses is automated.

According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, last year the harvest in winter greenhouses updated the record of 2020 - more than 1.4 million tons of products were received throughout the country. it is expected that by 2025 the volume of vegetable production in year-round greenhouses will be at least 1.6 million tons of vegetables.
