Almost 1 million hectares have already been sown with spring crops in the Lipetsk Region

In the region, the sowing season is reaching the finish line. 500,000 hectares have been sown with spring cereals and legumes. Oilseeds are planted on 360 thousand hectares, SUGAR beets - on 108 thousand hectares.
More than 5 thousand pieces of equipment are working in the fields. These are not only tractors, cultivators, seeders, but agricultural machinery for feeding winter crops and treating crops from pests. Lipetsk farmers are seeding lupine (89%), sugar beets (97%), corn for grain (84%) and silage (78%), as well as sunflower (95%), soybeans (95%) and annual grasses (82%) . Potato planting is almost completed, open ground vegetables are planted in 9 districts. Works completed on 79% of the area.
“The farmers did well. We bought seeds, fuel, and a fleet of vehicles on time at the level of last year. We have more than 5,000 units in the region,” Igor Kremnev, deputy governor of the Lipetsk region, commented on the course of the spring sowing campaign.
The total area under crops this year, including winter crops , will be 1.4 million hectares.
