Agricultural enterprises of the Trans-Baikal Territory have begun harvesting potatoes and vegetables in the open field. This was announced by the HEAD of the regional agrarian department Denis Bochkarev.
“The farms of the Chita and Uletovsky regions were the first to start harvesting. To date, 47 hectares of potatoes have been harvested, 566 tons of tubers have been dug up - this is one and a half times higher than the level of the same date last year. The average yield is 121 q/ha. Open ground vegetables were harvested on an area of 2.7 hectares, 68 tons were harvested,” the minister said.
The collection of greenhouse vegetables also continues. Currently, agro-industrial organizations of Transbaikalia have produced 1.5 thousand tons of vegetables in greenhouse complexes. Of these, cucumbers - 1.2 thousand tons, tomatoes - 250 tons, other vegetables - 59 tons.
it should be noted that in general, potatoes will be harvested on an area of 811 hectares along the region, open ground vegetables have been planted on 160 hectares this year.
