The farms of Transbaikalia exceeded the plan for sowing sunflower

Agricultural enterprises of Transbaikalia have completed the sowing of sunflower with overfulfillment of the plan, said the Minister of Agriculture of the region Denis Bochkarev.
“Agricultural organizations of the region sowed sunflower on an area of ​​4.2 thousand hectares. At the same time, even before the sowing campaign, the farmers set the task of sowing this crop on an area of ​​3.8 thousand hectares. Thus, the farms exceeded the plan by 10%,” the minister said.
Sunflower sowing this year was carried out by agricultural enterprises of three districts. The largest sown area under this crop is occupied in the Priargunsky district - 2.6 thousand hectares. One thousand hectares were sown with sunflower in Aleksandrovo-Zavodsky district, 600 hectares - in Kalgansky district.
it should be noted that in comparison with last year, the farmers of Transbaikalia managed to increase the sunflower sown area by almost ten times - a year ago, the region's farms sowed on 442 hectares.
