Vologda agricultural producers received the first subsidies this year

The Department of Agriculture and Food Resources sent financial support to enterprises of the agro-industrial complex and peasant (farm) enterprises of the region to prepare for the upcoming field season. The total amount of funds amounted to 459.4 million rubles.
Subsidies for a complex of agrotechnological works are provided per 1 hectare of the current year's sown area of ​​cereals, legumes, fodder crops and rapeseed. The money can be spent on the purchase of agrochemicals, mineral fertilizers, plant protection products, oil products used for technological purposes.
The forecast for the sown area of ​​all agricultural crops, including perennial grasses of past years, is 334 thousand hectares, which is 0.7 thousand hectares more than last year.
The main part of the preparatory work for the sowing campaign was completed by the farmers last autumn. For the harvest of 2023, winter crops were sown on an area of ​​4.9 thousand hectares. Winter crops overwintered satisfactorily.
At the moment, most of the region's farms are fully provided with seeds for spring sowing: 31.2 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops, 8.5 thousand tons of potatoes, 0.1 thousand tons of flax and 0.4 thousand tons of perennial herbs. Seeds of cereals and leguminous crops were checked by the specialists of the Rosselkhoztsentr branch in the Vologda Oblast - almost 92% meet the requirements of the sowing standard. About 36,000 tons of fertilizers are planned for this year's harvest.
For spring field work, farmers will use more than 3.3 thousand tractors, 467 seeders, 672 plows, 522 cultivators. The readiness of tillage equipment is 86%. Repairs will be carried out from the end of March to the end of April according to the approved schedules.
“Along with subsidies for carrying out a complex of agrotechnological works to prepare for the spring sowing campaign in March, agricultural producers will receive subsidies in other areas of support for the crop industry. 147.3 million rubles will be allocated for the production of potatoes and vegetables, industrial crops, and elite seed production,” Dmitry Gorbachev summed up.
