Scientific and practical conference "Konyaev Readings-2021" was held at USAU

December 10 Department of Vegetable and Fruit Growing named after N.V. Konyaeva of the Ural State Agrarian University held a traditional online conference.

Scientists not only from Russia but also from abroad took part in the event dedicated to the memory of the great vegetable grower, Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Nikolai Fedorovich Konyaev.

The organizing committee of the scientific and practical conference "Konyaev Readings-2021" included: Rector of the Ural State Agrarian University, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor O.G. Loretz; Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences I.M. sweet clover; Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, USAU, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor M.Yu. Karpukhin; and about. Director of the Ural Federal Agrarian Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor N.N. Zezin; Director of the Research Institute of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor V.S. Pastetsky; Leading Research Fellow at the Institute for Agricultural Development in Central and Eastern Europe. Leibniz (Germany) Dr. Axel Woltz; Professor Laszlo Palkovic from Hungary; Professor of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences P.A. Saskevich and others.
“Today, for the ninth time, we are holding a traditional conference dedicated to the great scientist, who made a huge contribution to the development of open field vegetable growing in the Urals and Siberia, Nikolai Fedorovich Konyaev. He made a huge contribution. His scientific research on the biology of vegetable crops and their cultivation is still applied today. Since 2003, the Department of Vegetable and Fruit Growing at the Ural Agrarian University has been named after N.F. Konyaev, so the memory of him is forever enshrined in our university. On behalf of the rector of USAU O.G. Loretz and on my own behalf, I wish all participants success and productive work. Any mutual communication develops further scientific and creative ties. This will allow us to use the potential of scientists for new discoveries,” said Mikhail Yuryevich Karpukhin, USAU Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, in his welcoming speech.

Within the framework of five sections, the conference participants discussed selection and seed production, as well as the conservation of plant biodiversity, modern technologies for the production of vegetable, flower crops, edible mushrooms and microgreens in protected ground, organic farming, resource-saving technologies for growing crops, greening and rational environmental management, digitalization and artificial intelligence in crop production, green building and landscaping, forestry and renewable energy.

As a result of the conference "Konyaev Readings-2021", in February 2022, a collection of the same name with conference materials will be released.
