This year, grape production in Russia will increase by 12.2%

In the period from 2016 to 2020, the gross grape harvest increased by 13.4%: from 601 thousand tons to 682 thousand tons. This is stated in the study "Analysis of the grape market in Russia", prepared by the BusinesStat agency in 2021.

One of the reasons for the increase in the grape harvest in RUSSIA was state support for farmers, namely subsidies for the laying of new vineyards, due to which the area under cultivation of this crop increased by 5.8% from 91.5 thousand hectares to 96 .8 thousand hectares, according to FruitNews.

In 2021, grape production will increase by 12.2% compared to 2020, and by 2025 the harvest will reach 765.4 thousand tons.

The authors of the study are confident that the amendments to Law No. 468-FZ “On viticulture and winemaking in the Russian Federation” will have a beneficial effect on the grape industry in Russia, which states that products made from imported wine materials cannot be called wine, and it is expected that the demand for domestic grapes by wine producers will increase.

It is specified that the grape growing area will reach 101.5 thousand hectares by 2025, which is 4.9% more than in 2020.
