A new livestock complex for 400 HEAD of cattle, complete with a Yolochka milking parlor, has been commissioned at the Verguza agricultural enterprise in the Ivanovo district .
This investment project is one of four already completed in the Ivanovo region in 2025. On Wednesday, June 18, Denis Cherkesov, Deputy Chairman of the Ivanovo region government, toured the new complex.
"Four dairy farms have already been completed in the region in 2025. In addition to the Ivanovo district, investment projects have also been implemented in the Rodnikovsky and Shuya districts. The total investment for these projects amounted to 450 million rubles. Eight more enterprises are currently constructing livestock facilities, with a significantly higher investment volume of over 3.5 billion rubles. Some of these facilities will be built this year, and others in the first half of next year. This will significantly increase MILK production; we expect the increase to be approximately 20% of the current volume," Cherkesov said.
The deputy chairman noted that milk production in the first five months of 2025 increased by 5% compared to the same period in 2024 due to the introduction of new facilities and increased productivity. "We hope that the influx of livestock to the new farms will support this trend," Denis Cherkesov added.
In May, the Verguza dairy complex began operations, with 200 dairy cows and 74 heifers transferred there. The new complex allowed the farm to adopt a completely new cow housing and milking technology. Cows are now housed loose, and milking takes place in the Yolochka milking parlor.
The deputy chairman inspected the main and auxiliary facilities, observed the milking parlor in operation, and spoke with the staff. "Construction of the dairy complex at the Verguza farm took over two years. it now offers more comfortable conditions for the animals, as well as good working conditions for the staff, including changing rooms, showers, and a cafeteria. "This is very important now for attracting young people to work," Denis Cherkesov emphasized.
Alexey Dormidontov, chief livestock specialist at JSC Verguza, explained that the planned capacity of 400 head is planned for August 2025. The barns will be stocked with the farm's own young cattle. The farm plans to increase milk production by a third as a result of the modernization of its production facilities.
As of June 1, the total cattle population on the farm stood at 866 head, including 477 cows. In the first five months of this year, 1,100 tons of milk were produced, with each cow yielding 2,700 kg. The farm's sown area is 3,400 hectares. The farm grows wheat and forage crops.
