100,000 tons of sugar have already been produced in the Tambov region

According to the Department of Agriculture of the Tambov region, all SUGAR factories in the region are actively processing sugar beets of the new crop. 640 thousand tons of "sweet roots" have already been processed, 100 thousand tons of sugar have been produced.

According to experts, by the end of this year, the region is expected to increase sugar production to 590,000 tons (2020 - 514,000 tons).

The growth in the production of the product in the region is primarily associated with an increase this year by 10% in the area under sugar beet to 100,000 hectares of fields.

The sugar industry of the Tambov region is represented by sugar factories: CJSC Uvarovsky Sugar Plant, LLC Rusagro-Tambov, PP Znamenka, LLC Rusagro-Tambov - Nikiforovsky Branch, LLC Rusagro-Tambov - Zherdevsky Branch, Kristall LLC, with a total production capacity of more than 31 thousand tons of sugar beet processing per day.

According to operational information, a third of the sugar beet harvest has been harvested from the Tambov fields. More than 30 thousand hectares of fields have been processed. The gross crop harvest exceeds one million tons.
