Sowing of spring crops began in the Stavropol Territory

Due to favorable weather conditions, agricultural producers of the region selectively started sowing early spring crops.
Sowing has already begun in Budennovsky, Kursk, Petrovsky and Stepnovsky districts. In total, they planted 3.3 thousand hectares of early spring crops or 0.4% of the plan, including peas, spring barley, oats sown on an area of ​​2.4 thousand hectares or 1% of the plan.
A sowing campaign will soon start in the Shpakovsky District. This year it is planned to sow 845 hectares of spring barley, 419 hectares of oats and more than 4 thousand hectares of peas in the district. Shpakovsky district is 100% provided with seeds.
“For the sowing of spring grain and leguminous crops for the 2022 harvest, agricultural organizations of the region need to prepare and check 53.9 thousand tons of seeds. To date, more than 47 thousand tons of seeds have already been checked for compliance with the requirements of GOST. The percentage of provision with conditioned seeds is 88%. Nine districts have already covered their need for conditioned seeds,” said Elena Tambovtseva, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
According to the regional branches of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" in the Stavropol Territory, the farms are almost completely provided with disinfectants, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides.
