Milk production is growing in agricultural enterprises of the Bryansk region

In the Bryansk region, a weekly meeting was held, at which the issue of winter-stall keeping of livestock in agricultural enterprises of the region was discussed.
The meeting was attended by Governor Alexander Bogomaz, Chairman of the Bryansk Regional Duma Valentin Subbot, Chief Federal Inspector for the Bryansk Region Andrey Dyachuk.
The wintering of livestock is going on as usual, no failures, emergencies and outbreaks of livestock diseases have been recorded. Timely work is being carried out to clear access roads to livestock facilities, ensure a reserve of feed on farms, remove snow from roofs, and uninterrupted supply of drinking water to animals.
As Vladimir Torikov, Director of the Department of Agriculture, emphasized, dairy cattle are housed in 518 livestock buildings, including 308 cowsheds and 210 calves. Beef cattle overwinter at 50 sites and two feedlots. As of January 1, there are 537.5 thousand heads of cattle in the Bryansk region, including 214.4 thousand heads of cows.
“In recent years, there has been a positive trend towards the transfer of dairy herds to year-round stall keeping using the same type of diets, balanced in nutrients. Currently, about 50% of the dairy population is kept using this technology. Cattle are provided with daily exercise. Livestock are fed according to the winter ration,” said Vladimir Torikov.
Dairy production remains one of the key areas in agriculture; 235 agricultural enterprises are engaged in it. In many enterprises of the region (Niva LLC, Novy Put LLC, Russkoye Moloko LLC, Krasny Oktyabr LLC), production continues to increase, as well as the average milk yield per cow, which is more than 5700 kg. Milk production has significantly increased compared to last year, among the leaders are Starodubsky, Bryansk, Komarichsky districts. Good indicators of milk growth were noted in Sevsky and Trubchevsky districts. In January 2022 alone, according to preliminary reports, 19 thousand tons of milk were produced, about 600 tons of milk are produced daily, which is 20 tons more than at the beginning of the year, more than 500 tons are sold to milk processing enterprises, and the marketability is more than 85%.
“We have something to compare with: seven years ago, the milk yield per cow was about 2,700 kg, and now the average figure exceeds 5,700 kg, and in breeding farms - more than 7,000 kg, and this, albeit small, but profit for our enterprises, and there are prospects in this direction,” said Alexander Bogomaz.
Work continues on the construction of new facilities, the modernization of milking technologies and the maintenance of livestock in the farms of the region. A large-scale project for the construction of a dairy complex for 3,600 milking herds with a total cost of 4.4 billion rubles is being implemented by Okhotno agricultural holding in the Brasovsky district. Currently, out of 2335 imported heifers, more than 1200 heifers have bred. Investments at the moment amounted to 2.9 billion rubles, construction and equipment of the complex will continue this year.
In the Starodubsky district, Krasny Oktyabr LLC continues the implementation of the third stage of the investment project, which includes the modernization of the maternity ward with a milking and milking unit, the construction of two calf houses for 690 cattle places and a feed mill. Completion of construction is planned for the 2nd quarter of 2022. Investments will amount to more than 350 million rubles. The total cost of the investment project is 1.25 billion rubles.
In the Karachevsky District, JSC Zheleznodorozhnik completed the construction phase of a modular robotic complex for keeping 528 cows, an investment project to expand dairy farms by 2,400 cows with a train. Currently, the complex is operated in production mode. Investments amounted to 230 million rubles. The total cost of the project is 1 billion rubles.
In 2021, to support the livestock sector of the regional agro-industrial complex, the department brought to agricultural enterprises 1.7 billion rubles from the federal and regional budgets, of which most of it was directed to the development of specialized beef cattle breeding, stimulation of milk production, development of livestock breeding.
