Issues of construction and modernization of breeding and seed-growing complexes were discussed in the Saratov region

The issues of construction and modernization of breeding and seed complexes, which are the most effective tool for import substitution in seed production, were discussed by the participants of the meeting chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the region - the Minister of Agriculture of the region Roman Kovalsky.
“In the face of sanctions pressure, we have enormous potential to revive the former glory of domestic breeding and produce competitive seeds. To do this, it is necessary to combine the efforts of agrarian science and agricultural business and develop public-private partnerships,” Roman Kovalsky emphasized.
The meeting participants - representatives of FANC South-East, Rossorgo, Saratov State Agrarian University, LLC RegionPromProdukt, LLC Agrofirma Rubezh, JSC Rosselkhozbank - supported the proposals of the deputy chairman.
At the meeting, it was noted that in a number of regions of the Russian Federation there is already a successful experience in implementing such projects. It was decided to visit colleagues to exchange experiences.
