In the Rostov region completed the recruitment of the parent herd of turkeys

The Damate group in the Rostov region completed the recruitment of the turkey parent flock and increased its capacity to the design 130 thousand heads. The Rostov complex for the first time reached full self-sufficiency with turkey hatching eggs.
To date, the company's specialists have put into operation all four blocks of the parent stock, each of which consists of four rearing poultry houses, six laying hen houses and a male house. In July, on the fourth block, replacement young animals were planted, obtained in our own incubator. In accordance with the technological cycle, the production of hatching eggs will begin here in January 2023.
“Completing our own parent turkey herd is not only strengthening the position of the enterprise, but also a contribution to the development of the import substitution policy, which is now very relevant in the country,” said Viktor Goncharov, First Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region. – We see how the gradual recovery of industrial production of turkey and duck has an impact on production indicators in the whole region. For the first half of the year, meat production in the Rostov region increased by almost 30% compared to the same period last year.
As noted in the leadership of the Damate Group of Companies, complete self-sufficiency in incubation eggs was achieved in the Rostov region. In total, this year the company's specialists expect to receive about 8 million eggs of incubation quality from the parent stock. This volume is sufficient to cover the internal needs for hatching eggs at the complex of the Rostov region, and also partially ensure the loading of the incubators of the turkey production complex in the Penza region.
Recall that Damate Group is implementing a project to restart turkey and duck production facilities in the Rostov region. The formation of our own parent stock is an important stage in the project to restart the high-tech industrial production of turkey meat with a capacity of 85,000 tons in carcass weight per year. The restoration of the production sites of the parent stock and the increase in the size of the livestock took place in stages. Starting from September 2020, Damate poultry sites were filled with young turkeys according to the planting plan. The specialists were given the task of organizing the work on the restoration of the genus herd in such a way that the entire production technology was observed, so that the production process met all the criteria in matters of veterinary and biological safety.
The company's management emphasizes that its own breeding herd reduces biological risks and allows you to control the quality of the eggs. Due to the optimization of logistics and due to the shorter shelf life, the quality indicators of own eggs are much higher than imported ones.
