The course of seasonal field work and the provision of farmers with the necessary resources were discussed today at the operational headquarters in the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA, which was held by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov.
The harvesting campaign in the country has reached the finish line, Russian farmers have to harvest from 17% of the sown area. 97.2 million tons of grain crops were harvested, including 70 million tons of wheat, 17.3 million tons of barley, 661.6 thousand tons of corn for grain. According to Dzhambulat Khatuov, in the current adverse weather conditions, the current results of the harvesting campaign can be assessed positively. At the same time, for some crops, the yield exceeds last year's figures, including for corn, SUGAR beet and rice.
At present, farmers in a number of regions have already begun sowing winter crops for the 2022 harvest. As of September 10, it was held on an area of 6.3 million hectares.
Separately, at the meeting, the issue of the availability of mineral fertilizers was considered. Since the beginning of the year, agricultural producers have already purchased over 3.3 million tons of mineral fertilizers, which is 300 thousand tons more than a year earlier. Also, the participants of the meeting discussed the pace of acquisition of agricultural machinery and land reclamation work in the regions.
