
Agricultural enterprises in the Moscow Region are actively stocking up fodder for livestock for the winter; about 800,000 tons of haylage have been harvested. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Sergei Voskresensky.
“In farms of all categories of the Moscow Region, the procurement of rough and succulent fodder continues to provide cattle and sheep in the winter-stall period of 2021-2022. As of today, 88.1 thousand tons of hay and 798.7 thousand tons of haylage have been harvested, which is 68.2 thousand tons more than last year. As of today, 58.8 thousand tons of silage have been harvested, we added 11.7 thousand tons to last year's figures on this date,” Sergei Voskresensky said.
In general, according to the minister, 18 centners of fodder units have been prepared for a conditional head, which is almost 72% of the need.
“In the near future, agricultural enterprises will start harvesting corn silage. In total, it is planned to procure succulent and roughage for a conditional head of more than 30 feed units,” Sergey Voskresensky added.
In agricultural and peasant farms there is a stock of feed from past years, which they can sell to other subjects of the Russian Federation. 24 thousand tons of hay, 11 thousand tons of haylage and 13.5 thousand tons of silage are offered for sale.
