12% more succulent feed for farm animals was prepared in the Moscow region

In the Moscow region in 2021, more than 12% more succulent and roughage for the winter for farm animals was prepared. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region Sergei Voskresensky, reporting on the progress of seasonal field work in the region at a meeting of the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov with ministers and heads of city districts.

“We have prepared 12% more succulent fodder compared to last year, we are going at the level of last year in terms of roughage. In total, fodder was prepared in excess of the consumption rate of 18%, which makes it possible to additionally provide fodder for the number of cows - 28.5 thousand heads and 11 farms of 2.5 thousand heads each,” said Sergey Voskresensky.

According to the minister, this year, more than 553.5 thousand tons of succulent fodder - silage and cornage, as well as 993.9 thousand tons of roughage - hay, haylage and straw have been harvested for the winter 2021-2022 period.
