In the Penza region, farmers are ready to start the sowing campaign

Spring sowing in the Penza region will be carried out on an area of ​​1103.2 thousand hectares. For spring sowing, agricultural producers need 102.4 thousand tons of seeds of spring crops.
Currently, work is being actively carried out on the selection of domestic varieties and hybrids to replace the seed material of import-dependent crops. In addition, some seeds of imported selection are produced on the territory of the Russian Federation.
In order to successfully conduct the spring sowing campaign, increase yields and obtain high-quality agricultural products, the region's farms provide for an increase in the application of mineral fertilizers to 84.5 thousand tons of active substance, which exceeds the level of last year by 3%. For spring field work, 52 thousand tons of active substance are needed.
For the successful implementation of seasonal field work in the region, work is underway to prepare and update the fleet of agricultural machinery and equipment. The farms of the region have 4,241 tractors, 2,557 cultivators, 290 high-tech sowing complexes, 2,118 grain seeders, 1,031 disc harrows and disc harrows, 485 mineral fertilizer spreaders to ensure the complex of field work in 2023. The readiness of agricultural machinery and equipment is 100%. In 2022, 152 units were purchased. tractors, 57 units. grain harvesters. From the beginning of 2023 to the current date, 34 tractors and 10 combine harvesters have already been purchased. Work on the renewal of the fleet will continue this year: it is planned to purchase 140 tractors, 65 grain harvesters, 539 units of other agricultural equipment.
Winter grain crops of the 2023 harvest in the Penza region cover an area of ​​356 thousand hectares, of which winter wheat is 350 thousand hectares. As of today, winter crops have been fed on an area of ​​over 144.9 thousand hectares.
For the effective implementation of the sowing campaign in the Penza region, the following support measures in the field of crop production are provided: subsidies for agrotechnological work, subsidies for supporting elite seed production, subsidies for laying and or caring for perennial plantations. In the 1st quarter of 2023, state support funds in the amount of 436.9 million rubles have already been sent to the agricultural sector of the Penza region.
Also, agricultural producers will receive support funds in the form of subsidies for preferential investment and short-term lending .
