The Novosibirsk region has enough own stocks of grain and flour

The grain produced in 2021 in the Novosibirsk Region almost doubled the internal demand of the region. Currently, grain stocks in the region remain significant: one and a half million tons. This is more than enough to provide raw materials for local production of enterprises of the flour-grinding and baking industries.

The Novosibirsk region is a surplus region in the production of grains and oilseeds, the average annual surplus in recent years has been more than 700 thousand tons annually.

“In 2021, a record grain harvest was harvested in our region: 3.38 million tons in the weight of the field of refinement. At the same time, the internal demand of the region is still within 1.8 million tons, taking into account both the needs of the food and processing industry and the livestock industry. The remaining volumes of grain are surpluses, and it is an urgent task to sell them outside the region,” said Evgeny Leshchenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, Minister of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region, live on the OTS TV channel’s Separate Topic program.

At the moment, there is still a significant stock of grain in elevators and warehouses: more than 1.5 million tons, most of which is wheat.

Thus, the flour-grinding enterprises of the region are fully provided with raw materials (grain) produced by local agricultural producers. In turn, the flour mills of the region can fully provide the entire baking industry of the NSO with flour, and at the same time have a significant reserve of unused capacities.

Approximately 186,000 tons of flour per year is used for food purposes in the Novosibirsk Region.

The volume of flour production in the region in 2021 amounted to 190.8 thousand tons.

“Currently,” the minister stressed, “the wholesale prices for wheat flour by our producers have not increased, there is even a slight downward trend in wholesale prices for flour. Serious fluctuations in selling prices for bread in the Novosibirsk region, according to reports from the administrations of municipal districts, have also not been established.

The Minister recalled that the Government of the Russian Federation decided to extend measures to support bakery enterprises in 2022. These measures are part of a set of measures to reduce food prices. Currently, changes are being made to Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 17, 2020 No. 2140, according to which bakery enterprises are compensated for part of the costs: the amount of compensation will be 2,500 rubles for the production and sale of 1 ton of bread and bakery products of non-durable storage.
