Sugar beet processing began in the Nizhny Novgorod region

Processing of new crop SUGAR beets began in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Nikolai Denisov.
“The Sergach sugar factory has started a new sugar production season. To date, the enterprise has processed more than eight thousand tons of sugar beets and produced 540 tons of granulated sugar,” said Nikolai Denisov.
The minister recalled that the cultivation of sugar beets in the Nizhny Novgorod region is traditionally carried out by farmers of the southern municipalities - Sergachsky, Spassky, Pilninsky, Gaginsky, Sechenovsky, Shatkovsky, as well as the Knyagininsky municipal district.
"Sugar beetin the region, an area of ​​5.6 thousand hectares was removed, which is 46 percent of the plan. At the same time, 164 thousand tons of root crops were dug up. To support the development of the beet-growing industry in the region, subsidies are provided per hectare of sown area, as well as compensation for part of the costs for the purchase of elite seeds and equipment,” added Nikolay Denisov.
it was previously reported that agricultural enterprises in the Nizhny Novgorod region have received 4.4 billion rubles in subsidies since the beginning of 2023. Another 1.3 billion rubles of state support funds will be provided to agricultural producers by the end of the year.
