
 In the first quarter of this year, the Lipetsk agro-industrial complex showed very good results. 
 According to statistics, the index of agricultural production amounted to 104.2%. As of April 1, agricultural enterprises kept 68.3 thousand heads of cattle (101.3%), including 29.3 thousand cows. This is 3% more than on the same date a year earlier. In peasant (farm) farms, the increase in livestock was 101.7%, and the number of cows increased by 18.5%.
 Compared to last year, the number of pigs in agricultural organizations has increased. As of April 1, there were 721.3 thousand heads (104.6%). The number of sheep and goats increased by almost 2 percent - 9.6 thousand heads. After a decrease in the number of poultry last year, associated with a change in the technology of growing broilers, its number is confidently recovering. As of April 1, the agricultural organizations of the region kept 12.3 million poultry. This is 7% more than a year earlier. In K(F)Kh and individual entrepreneurs, the growth of the poultry population amounted to 114.3%. 
 The production of livestock and poultry MEAT for slaughter in live weight in the first three months of 2022 increased by 6.7% to 84.9 thousand tons. Also, 59 thousand tons of MILK (103.2%), 165.5 million eggs (117.6%) were received in agricultural organizations of the Lipetsk region.
 “Despite all the difficulties that we had to face at the beginning of the year, Lipetsk agricultural organizations did an excellent job in the first quarter,” says Oleg Dolgikh, HEAD of the regional department of agriculture. “The products received by local producers will be enough both to meet the internal needs of the region and to supply them to other regions.”
