Potato harvesting has begun in the Lipetsk region.

So far, only farmers in the Dolgorukovsky district are harvesting their "second grain." They've received their first 4,700 tons.
"Due to the vagaries of the weather, potato harvesting in the organized sector began later than usual," she reported.Ekaterina Markova, Minister of Agriculture of the Lipetsk Region, said, "But our agricultural producers will do everything possible to achieve a decent harvest and ensure food security for the region and the entire country." This year, 5,300 hectares of the region's organized potato sector have been allocated
to potatoes
. Potatoes are planted in 10 districts and okrugs. Around 20 agricultural enterprises and peasant farms in the region are cultivating potatoes. Ninety percent of the organized potato crop is grown in the Gryazinsky, Zadonsky, Dolgorukovsky, Yeletsky, Khlevensky, Usmansky, and Terbunsky districts. The largest area under potato cultivation in 2025 is in the Zadonsky District, at 1,600 hectares. Last year, the organized sector harvested 212,400 tons of potatoes. Farms of all categories harvested 436,000 tons. The majority of Lipetsk potatoes grown in the organized sector are processed. Commercial potatoes are grown mainly on small farms.
