Potato Field Day was held in Kuzbass

Potato Field Day Potato RUSSIA has been one of the most significant events in the potato and vegetable growing industry in Russia for more than 5 years. This year it was held in Kuzbass - in the Yashkinsky district on the basis of KDV-Agro LLC.
Participation in the exhibition was attended by 29 companies - manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment for potato and vegetable growing, varieties of seed potatoes, plant protection products and fertilizers with a worldwide reputation. Field demonstrations of potato varieties, plant protection products, fertilizers and machinery were held for the guests.
The Russian market is fully provided with potatoes, the possibility of a shortage is excluded. This year, the sown area has been increased, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia expects an increase in the gross harvest of potatoes this year in the organized sector. This will fully satisfy domestic needs, including processing enterprises.
As for Kuzbass, in 2022, the area under potatoes increased by 347 hectares: 8,693 hectares were planted. Harvesting of early varieties of this crop is already underway: in three municipal districts (Belovsky, Leninsk-Kuznetsky, Prokopevsky), 1,362 tons of potatoes have been harvested from an area of ​​81 hectares to date.
“Increasing the production of potatoes and vegetables is one of the urgent tasks set for the agricultural producers of the region by the governor. Much attention is paid to its execution, the harvesting campaign began much earlier than usual. Already by September, locally produced potatoes will be presented on store shelves,” comments Andrey Aritkulov, Minister of Agriculture of Kuzbass.
